Commanding Officer Biography
LTJG Matt Landry, a former Sea Cadet PO1, has volunteered with the U.S. Naval Sea
Cadet Corps (NSCC) since November 2003. He is the first Commanding Officer of MASSACHUSETTS
BAY Division in Boston, Massachusetts.
Prior to assuming command of MASSACHUSETTS BAY Division, LTJG Landry served as Executive
Officer of JOSEPH P. KENNEDY, JR. Division in Fall River, MA. LTJG Landry has commanded
two NSCC advanced trainings in Newport, RI (Surface Warfare School) and has
staffed nine other trainings since 2004, including five Petty Officer Leadership
Academies at Newport, RI, two underway Seamanship Trainings at Lake Mead, NV, and
two Master-at-Arms/JAG Academies at Newport. In addition, he is a member of the
NSCC Internet Development Group and the Administrator of the Sea Cadets’ National
Training Web site, COMPASS (http://compass.seacadets.org/). This page is the source
for all the training programs for 8,000+ cadets in over 300 units of the NSCC.
LTJG Landry is a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy, receiving his appointment
in September 2005. LTJG Landry graduated from Hofstra University in May, 2003 and
received his Master of Science (Public Affairs) from the University of Massachusetts
Boston in May, 2006.
LTJG Landry is a recipient of the NSCC Chairman's Medal, NSCC Distinguished
Service Ribbon, NSCC Meritorious Service Ribbon (2 awards) and several other Sea Cadet awards.
He serves as an assistant to the Clerk of the Massachusetts House of Representatives,
a position he has held since May, 2003.
