Latest drill is a "day off" for the cadets

Sunday, June 29, 2008

June 29 was scheduled to be a regular drill for the unit, but it turned into a day off for the group.  We took two powerboats to George's Island (one of the Boston Harbor Islands for a picnic, football and exploration of Fort Warren.  This was a great way for the cadets to spend time together as friends and shipmates, instead of the normal grind of a drill.

Special thanks to Mr. Bob Falco, who along with ENS Patsios (Mass. Bay's OPS Officer) volunteered the use of their two 38' SeaRay powerboats for this trip.

The weather held out (although a dense fog made the morning trip very interesting), the cadets had a great time.
