Training aboard USCGC ESCANABA (WMEC-907)

Sunday, February 01, 2009

On our February 1 drill, cadets got some basic instruction on shipboard damage control and dewatering. This evolution, provided by the fine DC's aboard USCGC ESCANABA, was designed to get cadets the basic knowledge they'll need to participate in the Navy's Buttercup damage control trainer later this month.

One of the key elements of Massachusetts Bay Division's training program is to have our cadets participate in hands-on training as much as possible.  We frequently work with the Coast Guard cutters homeported in Boston, and with other military units throughout Massachusetts, to get the best training available.
